  1. AARP Smart Driver Course

    May 11, 2017, 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM @ Front Street

    If you are 55 years or older, you could be eligible for an auto insurance discount. Consult your insurance agent. Take the 2-day, 8-hour classroom refresher designed for mature drivers. Coffee is provided and you are welcome to bring lunch and/or refreshments to class. A microwave and refrigerator are available for your use. Advance registration is required, call 231- 922-4688. Fee is collected first day of class.

  2. Master Gardener Training Course

    May 11, 2017, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Northwest Michigan Horticultural Research Station

    Registration Deadline is February 23, 2017. If the deadline has passed but you would like more information about our Master Gardener Training Program, please contact Michelle Ferrarese at 231-256-9888 or ferrares@msu.edu. Extension Master Gardener volunteers start by completing a 14-session practical training course grounded in university research. This training is approximately 45 hours and participants must commit to attend all the training classes and complete all (open book) quizzes and final exam with an overall score of at least 80%. Missed classes (up to two) may be made up by attending class lecture on the same topic offered in other locations. After completing the training, Extension Master Gardener trainees must complete 40 hours of approved horticulture-related service within one year to earn their MSU Extension Master Gardener certification.
