The County Administrator is the Chief  Executive Officer for the County and along with the Finance Director, is responsible for preparing the budget for consideration by the County Board of Commissioners. Unlike the federal government, counties are required to prepare budgets that balance revenues and expenditures each year.

Budget preparation is an extensive process, involving significant effort by all departments, Administration and Finance, and the County Board. The budget is the road map followed to carry out all responsibilities and provide services.
